Sensitive Skin

Not all dogs are born with the same skin. Some have a weaker skin barrier—an invisible protective layer that keeps moisture in and irritants out. When this barrier is compromised, everyday triggers include pollen, dust mites, harsh shampoos, flea bites, certain foods, and even frequent bathing with products that strip away natural oils, leaving the skin feeling dry, itchy, and easily irritated. A dog's skin is only about one-third to one-half as thick as human skin, which is why using a gentle, pH-balanced shampoo is so important for maintaining healthy skin.
